THE Wetherspoon pub in Bath Road was recently named as winner for the pub sector (England) in the Loo of the Year Awards 2013.
The awards are aimed at highlighting the best out of home toilets. Inspectors visited numerous pubs across England to inspect the toilets and marked them on numerous criteria, including decor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
The pub had already won a platinum award, the highest rating for a pub, in advance of the main awards. The Loo of the Year Awards 2013 managing director Mike Bone said, “The Bear is a worthy winner of the award. Its toilets are outstanding in terms of design and are kept in first class condition at all times.”
Pub manager, Matthew Humphries said, “We are delighted to have won the award. It is a great feeling to know that we have the best pub toilets in England.”
