A TOPS stylist is celebrating after being selected from hundreds of entrants in two separate national competitions.
Vic Stevens entered the KMS California UK competition to win a place at London Fashion Week as one of the stylists for the models and a Project X competition to win mentoring each month for a year by a top stylist.
The KMS California competition was entered by hundreds of stylists nationwide and required Vic to take a photo of some hair she had worked on and the inspiration behind her idea. Following that stage she had to do a five minute Skype interview with the KMS California team and had to demonstrate how she could change that look within five minutes. The Melksham stylist impressed the panel and was one of only six stylists to be selected.
Following the success in the KMS California competition Vic was also celebrating after finding out she had been selected in a national Project X – British Hairdressing Excellence, which means she will be mentored each month for a year by a top stylist from major salons such as Sassoon Academy and Toni and Guy.
The Project X competition was entered by hundreds nationwide with just 14 selected to benefit from the mentoring sessions.
Vic said, “I am really pleased to have done so well in both competitions and it is a fantastic opportunity to use the new skills I will gain on my clients here in Melksham. The KMS competition is one I am particularly pleased about as it means I get to test the latest products and can bring it back to Tops and it can benefit the customers too. Even though I have entered these competitions I am committed to the clients in Melksham and will be available for appointments as always, as the salon is my main focus.”
