MELKSHAM Town Centre is sparkling for Christmas again this year, as local businesses get in the Christmas spirit with some festive window displays.

To recognise the effort and ingenuity that goes into the shop windows, Melksham Town Council will again be holding their popular Christmas Window Display Competition.
The town council reports, “The Mayor cllr Jon Hubbard and the Deputy Mayor cllr Colin Goodhind will carry out their festive duties of judging the town centre shop windows on Monday 13 December. Points will be awarded for creativity, impact, vibrancy and theme.
“Every shop window in the town centre will be considered so there is no need to fill in entry forms. Winners will be notified by the end of the week and presented with the winning plaque.”
Cllr Hubbard said, “It is wonderful to see the effort that our local businesses put into their windows all year round, but especially in the festive season. With our fantastic Christmas lights and our welcoming friendly businesses, Melksham is really a wonderful place to shop and visit at Christmas.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s efforts again this year!”
Last year’s winners were the Melksham Tile and Bathroom Centre with their amusing lockdown themed display.
