MELKSHAM Town councillors joined local police on patrol last month to support them on Halloween night.
The partnership was proposed by the town council’s clerk, Linda Roberts, who said that she was keen for the council to support the police on what can be a peak time for anti-social behaviour. Joining her were councillors Sue Mortimer, Carl Houghton, Louisa Lewis, and Graham Ellis.
They joined Sgt Twyford and PCSO’s Wilkins, Smith, Annetts, Piper and Walters on patrol for the evening.
The police report, “Of the 635 logs we dealt with county-wide yesterday (31st October); only 10 were for the Melksham area. Only two related to anti-social behaviour.”
