Sat. 9th Sept. FA Trophy Hamworthy 3-0 Melksham
MELKSHAM crashed out of the FA Trophy at the first attempt at a blisteringly hot Weymouth on Saturday against Hamworthy.
But this coming Saturday, Town are at home to Malvern where a win could take the them to the top of the Southern League Division One South for the first time in the club’s history, reports club chairman Darren Perrin .
Town got off to the worst possible start conceding after two-minutes due to a mix up at the back. For the next 40 minutes Town produced their best football of the season and missed numerous chances, had a goal disallowed and hit the woodwork.
In first half stoppage time, Town conceded again and ultimately gave themselves far too much to do.
In the second half Town produced very little and conceded a third halfway through the half. A poor second half performance which left the manager very disappointed and angry.
Town though will be looking to bounce back on Saturday where a win at home to Malvern could take them to the top of the Southern League Division One South for the first time in the club’s history.
We urge the community of Melksham to come and support your local club and see if the lads can bounce back in the right fashion.
The reserves had a fantastic 4 – 1 win over Larkhall thanks to two goals from Jake Dodge and Sam Dowell. The development side drew 2 – 2 against Warminster Town Reserves and the Ladies beat Kingsdown 12 – 2.
