MELKSHAM Town Youth U18 Hurricanes took to the pitch to defend the cup they won last season, in the final of U17/18 Mid Wilts League Cup v Devizes U17 Battleships.
“Following a perfect league campaign with a 100%-win record and the league title secured with three games to play, the 13-year journey through youth football ended at Hardenhuish Park Chippenham, and the lads came out as convincing 4 –1 winners, creating the ending they had hoped for!” said team manager, Alex Briggs.
“They have had an incredible last season in both league and cup, scoring 107 times in just 19 games coupled with an impressive 10 clean sheets.
“To win the league and cup double has been the best possible ending for a truly great bunch of lads, they really deserved to end the youth football journey this way.”
