EACH summer the Melksham flags team design and sew the banners and flags that are in the Market Place. The enthusiastic group are currently seeking new members to help create flags for next year’s events.
“This year we are planning ahead and hope to produce something very special, for the 60th Anniversary of Britain in Bloom,” says organiser Terri Welch.
“The group has ranged from five to 10 people, depending on everyone’s availability.
“We meet to agree a theme, our designer then goes away, we then pull the proposal to bits, add our thoughts and agree to go forward.
“People are needed to help with cutting, sewing and other odd jobs. So why not join the group, we generally meet on a Saturday morning at the Adventure Centre in the Park. We are having our initial meeting on Saturday 23rd September at 11am. Do come along and join us, we are a happy group.”
