TWO candidates will go head-to-head in the upcoming by-election for the vacancy at Wiltshire Council in the Melksham Without South division.
The candidates are Vanessa Fiorelli for the Liberal Democrats, and Nick Holder for the Conservative Party. The by-election for the vacancy, which has arisen due to the resignation of cllr Roy While, will be held on Thursday 24th October, from 7am to 10pm.
Carlton Brand, Wiltshire’s returning officer, said, “I hope registered voters will make sure they vote to have their say. A councillor has a real impact on the area they represent. They provide that local perspective for decisions made by Wiltshire Council on the services provided to the money we spend – decisions which affect every member of our communities.
“As returning officer for Wiltshire, I would encourage people to make sure they vote as an engaged electorate helps us to ensure our county is as democratically healthy as possible.”
The Melksham Without South division includes Bowerhill, Berryfield, The Spa, Redstocks and the south of the east of Melksham housing development.
