MELKSHAM Cricket Club appointed two new captains and a new club secretary at its annual general meeting last month.
The club reports, “The club is delighted to welcome Adam Mitchell into the role of 1st XI captain, who will be joining ahead of the 2022 season. He will be replacing Joe Veacock, who captained the side for four seasons between 2018-2021. The club would like to thank Joe for his hard work as 1st team skipper.
“The 2nd XI also gained a new captain. Ian Doyle steps up in place of Chris Long, who captained the side during the season just gone. The club thanks Chris, who will continue to serve on the committee as club treasurer, for leading the side last campaign.
“The meeting also the saw a replacement in the role of secretary, with Andy Footner returning to the role he last held in 2016. He replaces Gary Ings, who has served as secretary for the past three years. The club would like to thank Gary for his hard work during this time.
