Two Ukrainian teenagers won enthusiastic applause from villagers in Holt on Wednesday 24th August, as they stood on Ham Green holding the Ukrainian flag and singing their national anthem to mark the country’s Independence Day.
Daryna and Andrei are both refugees from the Kherson region of Ukraine, which is now occupied by the Russian Army. The teenagers and their parents are living with a Holt family and will start school in Trowbridge shortly. Holt is now home to four Ukrainian families.
