Melksham and Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network, who are working together to deploy the Covid vaccine as soon as it is available, is asking for volunteers to help deliver and support the vaccine operation.
The three practices who form the Melksham and Bradford on Avon Primary Care Network are Giffords Surgery, Spa Medical Practice and Bradford on Avon & Melksham Health Partnership.
They say, “We are being asked by NHS England to set up a local vaccination centre in our locality. This centre will need to be available 8am-8pm 7 days a week. Logistics mean that we will only have a short window to deliver the vaccines. We will then continue to have regular deliveries on a weekly basis.
“We are searching for people who would be prepared to be trained to deliver the vaccine, or are able to help with the clinics, offering support to the clinical team and provide marshalling roles.
“In the first instance please send your name and contact details to: wccg. mboa-volunteers@ nhs.net and we will contact you with further information.
“Several potential Covid vaccinations are in the later stages of phase 111 trials. General practice has an important role in setting up a local vaccination programme. To ensure that we can still deliver the full range of primary care health services, we asking the public to help us.
“This is a hugely important challenge and we wish to offer our sincerest thanks in anticipation of your support to help us deliver this programme.”
