DOZENS of blankets, made by local volunteers, will be displayed at Whitley Golf Club on Friday 11th May, before being sent to Africa to aid new mothers in Tanzania.
A team of local volunteer knitters have spent weeks making blankets for the Tanzania Development Trust whose representative, Dan Cook, will accept the gift and give a talk on the work of the trust.
Former nursing sister and volunteer blanket maker, Angela Brooks said, “I know how important the blankets will be. For many new mothers the gift of a warm blanket can mean the survival of their baby. I really appreciate the efforts of the knitting team.”
You can view the display at Whitley Golf Club from 10.30am.
