Warminster, having moved across from the Dorset & Wilts 1 South league, welcomed visitors Melksham in their first game of the season with new captain Charlie Radcliffe.
A disjointed game followed, with Warminster striking first with a converted try sparked by their very quick back three.
The visitors found it hard to create any consistency until scrum half Callum Hurn, attacking from outside the 22 from a tap and go, broke through defenders to score.
Both teams struggled with apparent rustiness through the game. Melksham forced their way up field for Nick Suter to break away from the rear of the pack to put the visitors temporarily ahead.
Warminster rallied just before halftime carrying over from a penalty five metres out to make it 14-10.
The pace of the game continued to fracture in the second half with stoppages preventing any rhythm. The home team struck again with a converted try and then a penalty to seal the game at 24-10.
