GET ready for a weekend of fun, food, drink and entertainment at this year’s Melksham Food and River Festival which returns on Saturday 31st August to Sunday 1st September.
Based in King George V Playing Field (KGV), the festival will involve a weekend of food and drink stalls from local businesses, activities and music for all in the community to enjoy, plus a special guest appearance from Paw Patrol.
One of the organisers, Adrienne Westbrook, says, “On Saturday 31st August get ready to meet your favourite heroes from Paw Patrol as they roam the park, ready to snap photos and make unforgettable memories with the little ones.
“In the marquee, the excitement kicks off with the mesmerising melodies of the Steeple Rocks choir, followed by the sensational debut of the Kris Nock big band! Experience the thrill of a 20-piece big band live in Melksham for the first time ever.
“And that’s not all! Brace yourself for the electrifying performance of Wafaa Powell and her Belly Dancing Extravaganza, where audience participation is not just encouraged, but essential for maximum fun and exhaustion!
“Cap off the afternoon with a concert by The Sunnies, supported by the talented Dani Cave! Keep the summer vibes alive with fantastic music, delicious food, and refreshing drinks!”
“Then on Sunday 1st September, embark on a prehistoric adventure as the dinosaurs invade Melksham, delighting kids and parents alike with their playful antics and larger-than-life presence!
“Inside the tent, let the Melksham Community Choir serenade you with their harmonious melodies, followed by the toe-tapping tunes of local folk group Sloe Jam, guaranteed to lift your spirits with their feel-good music!
“Experience the vibrant rhythms and rich cultural heritage of Africa with Dance Roots Africa, uniting people from all backgrounds through the universal language of dance!
“Before bidding farewell to an incredible weekend, join the Melksham Town Council in honouring the green thumbs of Melksham with their prestigious Gardening Awards, followed by the soul-stirring performance of DeciBelles, who will enchant you with their exquisite harmonies and timeless ballads!
