WITH the cost-of-living crisis still ongoing, some venues around Melksham will once again be providing a warm space and food for residents.
The town hall and Melksham library are both designated warm spaces providing residents with a warm place as the weather gets colder.
Melksham Free Dining also provides residents with a two-course lunch and social activities every Wednesday at Bowerhill Village Hall from 1pm to 3pm.
The Melksham Community Larder is still open at the Round House on Church Street, handing out surplus food supplies to reduce food waste and help residents who may be struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. The team at the Larder recently released their cookbook, Round House Recipes, to inspire residents to make nutritious meals with the ingredients found there.
The Larder opens Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 2pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 4pm.
Melksham Food Bank also provides emergency food for local people in crisis at their premises in Melksham Baptist Church. They give food parcels to residents in need who have been identified by local services every Monday 1.30pm to 3.30pm and Thursday 10am to 12pm.
The Food Bank takes food donations that can be dropped off to; Asda, Co-op (Blackmore Rd); Coventry Building Society; Lidl; Poundstretcher; Sainsbury’s; Spa Road Service Station; The Original Factory Shop; Waitrose; and any church in Melksham.
The Community Wardrobe is giving away donations of clothes to people who are struggling. The wardrobe is based above the Community Larder in the Round House.
