THE White Hart in Atworth is hosting its first post-lockdown community event next month, teaming up with the Atworth Artisan market for a “welcome back” event to remember.
The market on Sunday 9th May, which will have over 30 stalls, marks the pub’s return to “live” events, after a year of lockdowns and virtual pub quizzes.
“We are taking a more active role in this year’s markets and are working together with the Atworth Artisan to make the market full of life, local artists, small businesses and of course the community,” explained the White Hart’s Kirsty Cortilla.
“This will be our ‘welcome back’ to the community – we want everyone to know that we are still here and raring to go.”
The monthly market will offer contemporary craft, artworks, unique handmade gifts, flowers, food and drink and seasonal extras in a welcoming outdoor setting – plus a pop up shop for Atworth’s smaller businesses hosted in The Old Coach House.
“We have 30 stalls booked already,” said Kirsty, “and they are all local small independent businesses – and some that have started up in lockdown.
“As an independent family run business, we understand the importance of ‘supporting local’ and this is our way of showing support for other local businesses.”
In the coming months, more events will return to the community-focussed.
Kirsty said, “After all restrictions are hopefully lifted in June, regular events will return from July – that’s pub quizzes, and live music, which we are planning now. And we have Wagtail Wednesdays for dogs and their owners starting soon.
“Keep your eyes on our website and our social media – we are so excited to be back!”
The Artworth Artisan returns in Sunday 9th May, 11am – 3pm, and will continue on the second Sunday of each month after.
The White Hart is now open for food and drink, with outdoor seating available.
