WILTSHIRE Council has created an information pack for volunteer groups to help them support their communities during the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Wiltshire has already seen a large number of community groups mobilise up and down the county to support their fellow residents. The council pack brings together a lot of their best practise in setting up an effective response.
The ‘COVID-19 Volunteer Pack’ can be downloaded at http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/downloads/22151 and includes top tips on setting up a volunteer group, advice on supporting those in self-isolation, and a range of template forms and useful signposting to other resources.
Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council said: “We want to do all we can to support volunteer groups to carry out their vital role throughout their communities.
“Many groups have shared their way of working with us and we’ve collated as much of that as possible in one handy place. It’s testament to the great work that’s happening that we could have produced a 100-page document, but we’ve tried to keep it as concise and accessible as possible.
“We’re so proud of everyone’s efforts so far and we’ll continue to help them any we can.”
The council has also published a Community Groups Directory. This contains information about the volunteer groups the council has been made aware of and will be updated as much as possible. It can be found at http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/downloads/22069.
