Primary school children invited to take part in colouring competition
LOCAL youngsters have the chance to win the honour to be the person that officially opens Shurnhold Fields – Melksham’s new mini-country park – later this year.
To select a winner, Melksham Town Council, Melksham Without Parish Council and the Friends of Shurnhold Fields are inviting primary school children aged 4-11 living in Melksham, Bowerhill, Berryfield, Shaw, Whitley and Beanacre to take part in a colouring competition.
They say, “The child who colours the winning poster will be given the honour of officially opening the fields, as well as prizes being given to the winner and the runners up. All you need to do is colour in the poster on the back of the entry form. If you would like to take part, simply email the Town Hall at townhall@melksham-tc.gov.uk to request a poster or collect a poster from the Town Hall between Monday-Friday. Posters will be available outside the front entrance of the building. With spring in the air, why not grab one as part of your daily exercise outing.
“All entries will need to be returned either to the Town Hall or Melksham Without Parish Council by Friday 30th April.”
