Staff at Melksham Oak Community School celebrated World Book Day by having a house competition for best costume for a book character.
Librarian Ulrika Bruton said, “The favourite themes of the day were Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter. The fancy dress competition was won by Mrs Bruton for her take on Sirius.
“At lunchtime, the library turned into a crime scene. There was a murder mystery to solve and cryptic clues as to who was coming to dinner. Year 7 were great detectives and had lots of fun deciphering the clues. Everyone looked fabulous or slightly crazy!”
