A MELKSHAM schoolgirl and her deaf dog have returned triumphant from Crufts 2019.
Aloeric Primary School pupil, Danielle Gregory, aged 10, and her Belgian sheppard, Kite, won the Young Kennel Club Obedience High Flyers 6-11-years category at the prestigious event in Birmingham last week.
As Kite the dog is deaf, Danielle had to learn waves and hand signals to communicate with him.
“I am very proud and happy,” said Danielle. “It was really frightening in front of all the people in the audience, but Kite did really well. We looked after each other.
“I am going to keep competing with Kite and I want to enter Crufts again next year.”
