A group of young activists from Plastic Free Holt took part in the Surfers Against Sewage Mass Unwrap on 29th February.
They talked to shoppers in one of the supermarkets in Melksham about the amount of plastic that our food comes in and exchanged the packaging for reusable produce bags supplied by A Slice of Green.
The packaging that was collected was counted and this information will be collated with other mass unwrap events that have been going on over the country organised by Surfers Against Sewage. The data will then be used to inform consumers and put pressure on large companies and government to change how our food is wrapped.
