Wiltshire School of Gymnastics Jessica Daykin (14) and Robyn Ellison (15) competed at the English Championships on Sunday 20th March at Loughborough University.
The English Championships is a very prestigious event with only the top gymnasts in the country allowed to participate. Both girls competed in the junior category (14 and 15 years), against 59 other gymnasts from around the country.
This was Robyn’s first time competing at the English Championships and after a shaky start on beam she finished in 31st position performing all her other routines without a hitch with a 10th position on vault.
For Jessica this was her first year as a junior gymnast. After an excellent start on the beam, Jessica went from strength to strength on the other apparatus to finish in 13th place. Jessica also finished a very respectable 8th place on the beam.
