Wiltshire League Div 1 Beanacre/Melksham v Beckington
BMCC go down to 24 run defeat
On a damp pitch that caused a delay to the start, BMCC had no hesitation in asking the visitors to bat first.
The Beckington openers got off to a brisk start picking off the loose ball and raced to 32 before the first wicket fell.
The 2nd wicket pairing put on another 24 before Gulliford departed for 30. New bat Dwight was then put down without scoring, which was to prove costly. He put on 50 with Harfield before departing for 37.
The rest of the Beckington innings fell away as no batsmen, apart from Harfield could cope with Courtney Earl. Harfield was 6th out for a patient 58 as Earl finished with 5 for 61 as the innings closed on 179/8.
BMCC innings got off to a similar start to Beckington as Steve Rendell punished any wayward bowling. But unlike Beckington, the BMCC batsmen were unable to build any partnerships in the failing light. Only Rendell (37), Skipper Ben Brown (44) and Gary Burns (19) reached double figures as the home side were all out for 155. Pick of the bowlers was J. Weare with 4 for 36.

Wiltshire League Div 1 Nationwide House v Beanacre/Melksham 1st XI
3 wicket win for BMCC
Having won the toss and elected to bat Nationwide got off to a steady start as the bowlers struggled to find consistency in the gusty conditions.
Once the bowlers did find their line all the home side’s batting struggled to score runs. Only N.C.Clark with 48 really mastered the conditions as the wickets fell around him.
The home side were finally all out for 120, with the wickets shared amongst all the bowlers.
The run chase for the visitors was never going to be easy as their batting lacks confidence at present.
BMCC innings mirrored that of the home side as wickets fell at regular intervals. Only skipper Ben Brown showed the required patience in difficult conditions to inch his side nearer to victory.
In the end Chris Singh 13 and Gary Ings 8* supported Brown, who finished on 62* as the visitors nervously reached their target with 3 wickets in hand.
