AFC Melksham is celebrating sporting success after two of its teams won their respective leagues.
The club’s U16s Ability Counts side – for football players with learning and physical disabilities – retained the Wiltshire Championship this season while the AFC Melksham first team won the Chippenham Sunday League Premier Division.
The side, managed by Mike Rogers and Brian Evans, beat The Pack Horse FC 4-1 in their last game of the season to record their sixth win on the trot. The final game drew a big crowd to watch AFC Melksham finish the season on a high. The team scored 80 goals during the season and conceded just 19.
The adult Ability Counts team were unable to hold on to their title but finished a respectable third.
