This was a weekend where BMCC were no match for table toppers, Malmesbury in this Div 1 Fixture.
Asked to bat the Malmesbury openers profited from some unusually loose bowling and soon had the runs building.
Royal (30) departed with 39 on the board, but this didn’t slow the run rate as J.Gillespie (54) and J.Ward (91) put on 112 for the 2nd wicket.
The home side battled back but a late onslaught from R.Gillespie 42* and J.Langley 23* added 65 in the last 7 overs to allow Malmesbury to close on 269 for 5.
Only Andy Footner 12-4-23-1 bowled with any consistency.
When BMCC batted they were soon struggling as the Malmesbury bowlers produced a consistent line and length. Only John Wiltshire 30 and Alex Tanner 23 put up a fight as BMCC were all out for 120.
