MILLER Sports FC is celebrating after securing a sponsorship deal with Bowerhill-based coal merchant L.H Arlett & Sons.
The deal means the club has managed to get a new kit bearing the L.H Arlett & Sons logo and also enter two sides into the Chippenham Sunday League.
Miller Sports FC ‘A’ will play in division two, while the B team will play in the fourth division.
Mike Stevens took over the club at the beginning of last season and since then, the club has seen a massive upturn in fortunes. Prior to Mike’s arrival the team had only won five matches in total since 2009 as the club suffered many heavy defeats. However, under the guidance of Mike, the team won six matches in his first season in charge.
Mike said, “After an encouraging season and the great news of the new sponsorship deal means things are looking up. Having a B side will also allow local younger players to get a chance and get minutes on the pitch.
“We would like to send our appreciation to L.H Arlett & Sons for this kind gesture of sponsoring us.” Miller Sports is currently looking for new players to sign for the club and train on a Thursday night at Melksham Oak School from 8pm-9pm. Anyone interested can contact Mike Stevens on 07881-922107 or via the Miller Sports Facebook page.
