Two brave and fearless members of the Melksham Neighbourhood Police Team; Kane Fulbrook-Smith and Chris Pugh did a 13,500ft skydive on 15th June at Netheravon to help celebrate 25 years of Splash-Wiltshire Charity Fund.
Kane said, “Splash is a fantastic charity that does great work to support young people in Wiltshire. I did this skydive to raise awareness and to help those young people who really need it, whilst experiencing the best adrenalin rush ever !!!”
Meanwhile Chris set himself a series of challenges to celebrate his 30th birthday, a skydive being one of them. He said, “This is an ideal opportunity to tick this particular challenge off my list, whilst also helping to support a local charity that shares the same ethos about how getting out in the great outdoors can increase a young person’s self esteem and confidence.”
Chris and Kane raised just over £1,000 and want to thank everyone in Melksham, family and friends who put their hands in their pockets to make this possible.
The Splash team added, “We were delighted when Kane and Chris came forward to take up this challenge. We work in the office next door to them and it’s really encouraging when our colleagues show support for the work we do. Splash aims to provide free activities to young people from troubled backgrounds, to create opportunities for them to play, interact, develop and be inspired and to improve their self confidence and self esteem.”
