Charity ‘chain gang’ raises £1,700

A GROUP of Melksham fundraisers recently donated the fruits of their efforts to charity after raising £1,700 in a ‘chain gang’ event in June.

Friends from Melksham Rugby Club held the charity chain gang event earlier in the summer in which people were dropped off at a mystery location then had to navigate and walk their way back to the rugby club.

Organiser Katie Chappell said, “A massive thank you must go out to the people of our community who donated to our teams, to the companies who loaned us the minibuses, and to all the pubs who helped as checkpoints and donated refreshments. We have already turned our thoughts to next year’s event; let’s see what 2017 brings!”

The money raised was donated to Dorothy House Hospice Care and to Melksham Rugby Club.
