DESPITE the grey skies and threat of rain, three teams from Spencer Melksham Bowls Club took on Calne in the Triples League on a chilly April evening.
The club report, “Competitions are under way during May with competitions starting for both the Men’s and Ladies’ sections, as well as a new competition for 2021- 100UP which sees both sections competing for the same prize, as well as the more traditional singles and pairs competitions. However, the inclement May weather is causing problems with completing the preliminary rounds. Hopefully June will provide the perfect weather conditions.
“Preparations for the Open Day on Saturday 29th May are well underway. If you’ve been at the Spencer Melksham Social Club recently and wondered what it would be like to have a go on the Bowls Green- now’s your chance.
“We will be open from 10am to 4pm and there is plenty of room to park. All you need is a flat pair of shoes/trainers and we will provide the bowls and show you what to do. The opportunity is open to all ages. With thanks to Melksham Motor Spares who have kindly provided sponsorship to help towards our day.”
