RICHARD Hammond, a former ‘Top Gear’ presenter, fuelled up at the petrol station in Beanacre Road recently while filming a new motoring programme.
The popular star arrived at the BP garage in a brand new Ford Mustang GT, while apparently filming at a local airfield. A photo was shared widely on Facebook by over 150 starstruck local people.
Director of Nortree Motors, Edward Phillips, saw the entourage pull up from his showroom next door.
Edward told Melksham News, “We all recognised him straight away – it was Richard Hammond and a big film crew; probably 15 people in total. They just turned up, filled up the cars and drove off.
“It looked like he was dressed up in an American outfit, and they were apparently filming at Keevil airfield with Jeremy Clarkson. He has actually been to the garage before and I’m told he lives somewhere near here, but we’ve never seen anyone else famous stopping by.
“None of us approached him but there were a lot of people around him so I suspect we would have been told to go away!”
Richard Hammond, along with former co-presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May, have been spotted around the country while filming for their new motoring show ‘The Grand Tour’, which will be available on Amazon Prime.
The three left the BBC’s ‘Top Gear’ – one of the most watched shows in the world – last year after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked after punching a producer.
