AS we come out of lockdown, the Festival Committee is putting the finishing touches to making everyone’s visit to this year’s Melksham Food and River Festival a safe and enjoyable experience.
The committee report, “We’ve increased spacing between stalls and established wide pedestrian corridors throughout the Festival site to ensure free movement.
“The Festival will be held in Melksham’s King George V Park over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September 2021, it is free-to-enter and will be open to the public from 10am each day; closing at 6pm on Saturday and 4.30pm on Sunday.
“Although we already have more than 50 stalls booked for this year’s Festival we can still offer a few more stallholders the opportunity to promote their products and services. Visit our website for more information and to book a pitch at this year’s Festival.”
Festival Co-coordinator, Adrienne Westbrook, says, “Many popular activities are returning this year along with some new attractions such as ‘Try paddle-boarding’, ‘Wiltshire search and rescue’ plus some new fairground rides and some debut songs from Matt Cook”.
Boat trips will be run on the River Avon by ‘Wilts and Berks Canal Trust’ on both days of the Festival and they also offer an opportunity for groups of up to 8 people to book a boat trip on Friday 3rd September during Festival set-up day.

Throughout the Festival weekend King George V Park will remain open to other users of the Park’s facilities including Play Areas, Splash-Pad, Skateboard Park and the Pavilion Cricketers Café.
