Melksham Town FC has signed goalkeeper Connor Johns for the 21/22 season.
Connor is a well-respected goalkeeper who for the past couple of seasons has played for Highworth Town FC. He has also played for Swindon Supermarine and Shrivenham.
Manager, Rich Fey said, “Connor is another great signing for the club. He is an established goalkeeper at this level who has won the ‘Player of the Season’ award for the last couple of seasons at Highworth.
“He always impresses me when my sides have come up against him and he impressed me straight away when wanting to agree to come now that Jamie Bartlett has moved away.
“He will only strengthen us in this position especially with the professional work that GK coach Nick Evans does. We also have very good keepers in Rob Brown and Harry Pickering to battle for the No1 position. The squad will have great competition which is something that we didn’t have for the past couple of seasons.”
Connor added, “I am thrilled to have committed to Melksham Town FC. I feel that it is a step forward in my footballing career which will enable me to face new challenges. It was an absolute no brainer to have committed to Melksham, especially with the professionalism with which the club is run and the positive atmosphere that this brings. The facilities are brilliant and I am absolutely buzzing to start the season.”
