Churchfields, the Village School is celebrating a successful report from Ofsted following their inspection of the school on 28th February.
Both staff and governors at the school, which has bases at both Atworth and Monkton Farleigh, were praised by the inspectors who recognised the ‘incredible hard work the school community has engaged in over the previous few years.’
The report said, “The new curriculum inspires pupils and helps them to develop a love of learning.
“Pupils talked excitedly about the opportunities they are given and value the care and support they receive.
“Pupils are very well behaved. They are polite and well mannered and the pupils’ writing shows significant improvement.”
Headteacher, Simon Futcher said, “We have secured a good quality of education and care for our pupils whilst ensuring the smooth adoption of new key strategies from central government such as the more demanding National Curriculum, removal and replacement of assessment levels and a new Special Educational Needs Code of Practice to name but a few.
“It is also heartening to know that both key areas for improvement identified by inspectors are already in the school’s own development plan and are being tackled with rigour.
“I would like to thank all members of the school community for their hard work and support over the previous few years and look forward to working with you all in the future as we enjoy tackling new challenges to ensure we provide the very best education and care for all pupils who attend Churchfields, the Village School.”
