MELKSHAM residents are being encouraged to share their opinions about the town’s current bus service.
Wiltshire’s county-wide bus user group, Option 24/7, explains, “In March 2021, the Government unveiled a new Bus Strategy – called Bus Back Better – which represents the greatest shake-up of the UK bus industry for decades, and the best opportunity to make big improvements to local bus services in recent memory.
“We at Option 24/7 are working together with Wiltshire Council on a Bus Service Improvement Plan which could bring in millions of pounds worth of Government funding to help make these big improvements to local bus services a reality.
“But we can’t do it without the help of the most important people of all – you, the current and potential future bus passengers of the Melksham area.
“Please fill in this survey at http://option247.uk/council_survey so we can find out where your current bus services are working, where they could be better, and where they simply don’t provide what people need.”
The survey closes on 23rd August.
