More than 400 people enjoyed a day of music and entertainment at King George V Playing Field on Saturday 25th July, as the team behind Wiltshire Throwback Festival hosted a special one-day event.
The event, organised by WTF’s Nico Menghini and Gary Cooke, featured DJ Cliffty, MC Deadly and Megaman from So Solid Crew.
It was the first event to run as part of a new series called ‘WTF Presents’, which aims to bring smaller, pop-up music events to Melksham alongside the annual Wiltshire Throwback Festival.
Director Nico Menghini said, “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and supported the first ever WTF Presents event. Seeing more than 400 people through the gates for our first standalone show was a fantastic start and the atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant.
“WTF Presents has always been intended as a smaller, more intimate pop-up event, rather than a large-scale festival. It’s designed to bring great artists and great music to Melksham in a different way, creating a close-up experience for audiences while complementing our annual Wiltshire Throwback Festival.”
Some members of So Solid Crew were unable to attend due to vehicle issues while travelling from another performance, but organisers said other performers stepped in to keep the event running.
Nico added, “As with any first event, there are always lessons to take forward, but overall, we’re really pleased with how the day went. The feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s given us real confidence to continue growing WTF Presents as a regular series of events for the town.
“We’re already looking ahead to our next event and can’t wait to do it all again.”
