BROUGHTON Gifford’s Darrell Higgins had a dramatic exit from his ACU National 250cc championship race while dicing with this season’s national champion Ant Hodson for the race lead.
They were taking part in the final round of the N G Road Race Championships, held at Thruxton, Hampshire, on Saturday 7th October. As Darrell exited the chicane, he was highsided off his Dennis Trollope-backed T Z 250cc Yamaha, but walked away unhurt.
Melksham’s Russell Hynes notched up a pair of sixth places in his two 700cc streetstock races on his 675cc Triumph and finished fifth in this season’s championship.
