LOCAL singing sensation Izzy Felstead heaped praise on her Melksham based music producer after appearing at the Teenstar showcase Grand Final.
Izzy saw off thousands of competitors to reach the final but fell just short on the day as she finished outside the top three. Despite the disappointment many positives were taken from the experience as and she praised Mel Austin, her music producer and her friend Courtney Buchanan also from Melksham who reached the Teenstar final herself last year.
The judging for the final is decided by a combination of Judges marks and text voting and although Izzy missed out on a top three place she was among only eight people from over 9,000 to be chosen to appear at an exclusive showcase event in front of Future Music Management and other music industry representatives.
She was selected as she was one of the best acts over the whole competition period and the judging team and organisers see her as having the most commercial potential. She also won some recording time at one of the judges own recording studios – River Studios in Southampton. At the Grand Final Izzy sang her new original song called “SPACES (Start Again)” and she also played keyboard on the start of the song. The song is the one that she sang at Melksham’s Party In The Park and one that the audience voted for her to sing at the TeenStar Final.
Izzy said, “I really enjoyed the day at the NEC and the whole competition from start to finish. Now though I am really looking forward to appearing in the special Showcase event in front of the music industry executives and show them a range of songs. What made the whole thing possible for me was the fantastic help I have had from my producer Mel Austin and also from Courtney Buchanan who Mel helped get through to the Teenstar Finals last year.”
Over the summer she will be writing and putting together some more songs with her producer Mel Austin. She is looking to perform at local events and can be contacted through her Dad, Julian on 07771 798451.
