JUDGING day for South West in Bloom is next week, and Melksham Bloomers need you help to get the town ready!
The last Town Tidy will be held this Sunday, 11th June, from 1pm to 3pm.
The judges are expected on Wednesday 14th July, and the Bloomers are hoping that Melksham will again be awarded the coveted Gold.
On behalf of the group, Terri Welch said, “Although the competition is called ‘in Bloom’ this is only a part of the marks. It is about community, pride in the community, involvement of many differing groups, lack of litter, graffiti and art in the environment.
“To make sure that Melksham shines there will be a Town Tidy day on Sunday 11th. Litter will be collected, but it is also important that all street furniture is clean and free of posters, string, cable ties etc. Bus shelters clean and all weeds gone.
“The meeting place is the Market Place, time 1-3pm, everybody welcome. Please wear sensible shoes and bring your own gloves, we can provide the other equipment. Come along and do your bit to show that we love our town and want it to look its best.”
