A local Cub group has triumphed in the Wiltshire West District annual Scrapheap Challenge, held recently with eight packs from across the district taking part.
The Broughton Gifford and Holt Cubs won the competition, which was themed around Transformers, with their Bumblebee-themed construction.
District lead volunteer Christine Broom said, “Forty-two Cubs from across the Wiltshire West District took part, and the theme of Transformers was greeted with excitement due to the recent Transformers film Rise of the Beasts.
“The competition was fierce, and the challenge soon got underway, with the Cubs building various constructions from scrap that could transform into something else. The Cubs worked as teams with great enthusiasm.
“The event was supported by many leaders and parents. The guest judge this year was district team member Sue Wills, who did a brilliant but difficult job, as there could only be one winner.”
