AN eight year-old girl had her hair cut off for charity as part of her birthday celebrations.
Local girl, Evie-Rose Crook, threw a party for the whole community so they could cheer her on as she gave away over 14 inches of her own hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to children that have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other illnesses.
The event raised £510, hitting the target that had been set by Evie-Rose’s grandmother, Yvonne Crook who explained, “When this journey started we were shocked as to the costs involved in converting hair into a wig. Secretly no-one knew that I wanted to raise £500 until the day arrived.
“The day was a great success thanks to everyone who donated their time, skills and support.
“Each and every one of you has made a difference. A child will soon have a wig made of real hair thanks to Evie-Rose and the money raised. Thank you all.”
