A warm welcome will be awaiting Chippenham Male Voice Choir, when they appear at Melksham United Church on Friday 4th December at 7.30pm.
With approximately 70 members, this local choir is pleased to be making a return visit to the church, particularly as the building’s acoustics are so good.
The choir’s normal repertoire of ‘Serenades to Swing’ will be interspersed with traditional carols and popular songs. Everything from ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’ to popular songs such as ‘Something’ and a ‘The Way We Were’.
The choir will be led by Chippenham resident Bob Jones and accompanied by his daughter Sarah, on the keyboard or piano. The possibility of a monologue, some instrumentals and even a tenor solo are also offered as tasty tit bits for the evening.
This is the choir’s first concert of the Christmas period and they promise you a good old fashioned programme to get everyone in the mood for the festivities, whether you are eight or 80 years of age.
The event will raise funds for the maintenance of Melksham United Church, which in addition to its primary role, is also used by the community for many functions.
So join the Chippenham Male Voice Choir in their 75th year as they celebrate their first concert of the season. Tickets are £5 to include refreshments and are available from Melksham Tourist Information Centre and by calling 07770 546526.
