Wiltshire County Cricket League | Div. 4 Hinton Charterhouse CC 2nd XI 236/8 (45) Melksham CC 1st XI 231/9 (45) Hinton Charterhouse won by 5 runs
LEAGUE cricket made its return at the weekend as the new season bowled into action.
Melksham Cricket Club’s 1st team got their league campaign underway on Saturday 24th April with a trip away to Hinton Charterhouse 2nd XI.
However, it was a disappointing start, with Melksham losing by five runs despite a “phenomenal” 75 runs from Mark Mullis.
The club said, “A phenomenal late surge from Mark Mullis (75) is not quite enough as Melksham finish on 231-9, agonisingly short of the target.”
Earlier contributions came from Chay Forester (50) – who made his highly anticipated debut for the club – and Joe Veacock (40).
