“LAST year the decision was taken that we would not enter Melksham in the main RHS South West in Bloom, but would continue entering for the ‘In Your Neighbourhood (IYN)’ section which is for individual areas and is assessed by RHS judges,” reports Melksham Bloomer.
“We had Church Walk, Canon Square, Jo’s Upcycled Garden at Waitrose, Tree planting at St Barnabas, Beanacre, The Station Cafe area, the Market Place and roundabout, Conigre Mead Nature Reserve and The Friends Garden in King Street all enter.
“Judging was very late, well into August and all areas were affected by the drought!
“Our judge commented on the cleanliness of the town, lack of graffiti and litter. So, a big thank you for all involved; it is hard work, but worth it to keep our town looking good. Perhaps we might re-enter the main competition this year!”
