A MELKSHAM sports event-organising company has presented a cheque for over £35,000 to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
DB Max, based at Commerce Park, organises running, cycling and triathlon races and last month handed over a cheque for £35,560, raised from events in and around Wiltshire.
“All the credit should go to the generous people who take part in our events and, as you can see, it quickly adds up to a significant amount,” said Will Whitmore from DB Max.
“The money was raised from various events all within an hour of Melksham; all we do really is tell everyone what a great charity the Wiltshire Air Ambulance is, and provide a way for people to fundraise and donate.
“We are now teaming up with Wiltshire Air Ambulance again for the return of the Rood Rampage on June 18th 2023.
“It’s a fun-filled, muddy, obstacle course based in Rood Ashton, Trowbridge. We already have local teams entered from groups and companies like Forest Fitness and the Somerset Arms.
“There are adult races, kids races and an elite race too. It’s fantastic fun!”

They organise around 25 races locally each year, including the Westonbirt House Christmas 10k, The Castle Combe ‘Chilly’ 10k, Chippenham’s Longest Day 10k and other 10k races, duathlons (run-bike-run), cycle time trails and triathlons.
They organised the popular Melksham Town FC 10k in 2019 before Covid struck.
“We haven’t got back to running that one again, but hopefully it’s something we can resurrect; we’ve been talking to Darren Perrin at the club,” said Will.
DB Max also provide a race timing service for events all over the country.
