MELKSHAM competitors took part in the penultimate round of the N G Road race championships at Pembrey in Wales on the weekend of the 2nd-3rd of September.
Paul Korkus reports, “After notching up his first victory of the season at Anglesey at the previous round, Melksham’s Russell Hynes was again in the thick of the action on his 675cc Triumph in the 700cc Streetstock races.
“In mixed weather conditions, dry on the Saturday, wet on the Sunday, Russell notched up a pair of fourth places and is fifth in the 700cc Streestock Championship with one round to go.
“Meanwhile Broughton Gifford’s Andy King had Novice passenger Joseph Thomas teamed up with him and their best finish was second place in Saturday’s race and they set the fastest lap of the race in a time of 1 minute 06.68 seconds and a speed of 78.60 seconds.”
