THE Melksham Pearlies performed at Melksham’s Rainbow Club recently for free, to show their support following the recent break-ins and damage caused at the club.
Husband and wife, Mike ad Jeanette Nash make up the Melksham Pearlies duo, singing traditional sing-a-long songs such as ‘London Pride’, ‘My Old Man’s a Dustman’ and ‘Any Old Iron’. They were formed following a carnival entry in 1993 and have since performed at many local venues as well as featuring on television.
The duo performed at the Riverside Club as one the club’s regular clients, Norah Hirst, celebrated her 100th birthday. They waived the performance charge in view of the damage caused during a break-in in the summer.
Their profits usually go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance who have benefited from over £18,000 from the Melksham Pearlies over the years.
