Sat. 23rd October. Southern League Div 1 Mangotsfield 0 Melksham Town 2
TOWN manager Richard Fey kept an unchanged line up as Town looked to maintain their good form and rise up the table.
Mangotsfield started slightly the better on a glue pot of a pitch, which certainly did not help for attractive football. After Town weathered the early pressure, they started to dominate proceedings and went ahead shortly before half time through a headed goal from Ryan Morgan after fine play by Jake Mawford.
Town went two nil ahead shortly into the second half with a wonderful volley from Albie Hopkins. Town could and should have added a couple more.
With 10 minutes to go Mangotsfield were awarded a penalty which keeper Matt Hall superbly saved. The Town saw out the remaining minutes very comfortably to record another 3 points and moved them up to eighth position in the league
This Saturday Town travel to Hartley Wintney who play in a higher division in the FA Trophy where although the Town will be huge underdogs, they will certainly look to give a good account of themselves.
