A LOCAL woman is going to shave her head to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Gaye Easton is to have her locks shaved off at an event to be held at her home on Sunday 4th May.
So far she has raised half of her £1,000 target and Gaye and her husband will open the doors at their home for her supporters at 3.00pm with the event starting at 4.00pm. Even her son Ashley has got on board and will also have his precious long hair cut too. Gaye said, “He has coveted his long hair for the past nine years but wants to help in raising as much money as possible.”
It’s a cause that Gaye feels very passionate about saying, “Everyone knows or loves someone whose life has been affected by this sickening disease. For me personally, I lost my dad in his battle against two forms of cancer. A close friend of mine was also a victim of cervical cancer and on top of that, my second eldest sister has been successful in fighting off breast cancer. More recently, one of my nieces is receiving chemotherapy in her battle against breast cancer.
“I no longer possess a sporting physique and have never experienced the courage to jump from a plane, so taking some of my dad’s advice, I used my head and voila!”
