Saturday 31st August, Wiltshire Cricket League, Division One BMCC lost to Hinton by 1 wicket
BMCC openers Darren Perrin and Mark Wiltshire got their team off to a good start registering a 50 partnership before Perrin departed in the 16th over for 17.
This brought Matt Hunt to the crease and along with Wiltshire they gradually began to take control as they put on 82 for the 2nd wicket before Wiltshire departed for 86. Hunt continued to keep the board ticking along, but none of his team mates could stay with him long enough to build a decent partnership. BMCC innings closed on 214 for 7 with Hunt remaining unbeaten on 64. Hinton’s innings followed a similar path to that of their hosts as their openers put on 42 for the 1st wicket, a few quick wickets fell before P. Boreton (22) and J. Newport (49) put together a 62 partnership for the 5th wicket leaving the game in the balance at 141 for 5 after 32 overs.
The game then swung to and fro until an 8th wicket partnership between S. Palmer (25) and E. Borton (14) finally gave Hinton the advantage as they reached their target with three balls to spare.
