Melksham Town FC 2013-2014 season came to an end with the club able to reflect on an unprecedented level of success.
The First team,Wiltshire’s sole representative in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, recovered from a slow start to gain a very respectable 7th position in the league and also retained the Wiltshire Senior Cup for only the 7th time in their 138 year history.
The Town’s reserve side completed a league and cup double by winning the Wiltshire County Division One title and also the Fountain Junior KO Cup and will now play in the Wiltshire League Premier Division in the forthcoming season.
To end the season the club’s Under 18 Youth team won the Wiltshire County Youth final for only the 3rd time with a thrilling 3-2 victory over AFC Corsham.
Looking forward to next season, the club will be introducing an additional adults’ team to play in the Trowbridge & District League and with a blossoming Youth section and the ever nearer new football centre in advanced planning stage, the future looks very promising.
Finally the club would like to thank all who have supported the club by way of sponsorship and volunteering their services to enable the club to run smoothly behind the scenes as without this, the achievements on the field of play would not have been attainable.
